All the photos below were shot during my trip to Kazakhstan in June 2007. I travelled with Geoff Mackley to explore the Aral Sea, one of the world's worst ecological disaster zones. The diversion of two rivers in the Soviet era lead to dramatic drops in the water level and causing the Aral Sea to dry up. The area is now desolate and many former fishing villages have been completely abandoned. If you are interested in buying copies of these please email me for a quote.
