Major Tropical Cyclone Brewing in Arabian Sea - Could Threaten India and Pakistan - 1000z 1st June 2010

Tropical storm 03A is ramping up in the Arabian sea and could pose a serious threat to India and Pakistan towards the end of the week. According to JTWC the storm has sustained winds of 50kts, gusting up to 65kts. They forecast the storm to make landfall near the India / Pakistan border on Friday or Saturday this week with sustained winds up to 90kts.

More worryingly the ECMWF weather model predicts 03A will become an even more powerful storm than what JTWC is forecasting and impact the India / Pakistan border as a very strong system.
